Street Wear Inspiration

One summer day, I saw a girl walking on the street with her friends she wore bloomers and a top. Most of her friends wearing legging. I thought, people really likes wearing knee length bottoms. So, I went home and started sketching my ideas, and i came up with this collection. They are simple but they will make people on the street turn their heads back to look at and say: COOL!

My Empire Collection

Yeahhh, I finally started my new collection "Empire Influences". Empire era is mostly focus on garment that has high waist. The top of my dress is strapeless with boning inside and the skirt is on bias to created flare. I added a little flowers details on the top for focusing. I created each flower and then hand sew on the dress to help even the spaces of the flowers detail.

After I cut the bias skirt, I had to make sure to hang the skirt on the dress form before I sew to help stretch out the skirt hem. I hang the crystal stone to help it pull even more.

This is my dress on the model, I took this picture before the actual fashion photo shoot day, just for fun because I want to see how it look. But for the professional picture, the background should be in white or black. I can't wait to finish everything and have my dress ready for the photos day.

Fashion 107B Skirt

This is my Fashion 107B Skirt. Fashion 107B is an advance pattern making class. In this class we have to make pattern for a tailor jacket, a skirt, a trouser and a top. Since I'm working on the tailor jacket, my skirt also a tailor skirt so it can be a whole set of tailors make. I chose Herringbone fabric for my jacket and skirt. My collection is influences by the 1940's era. I try to do my skirt as simple as possible because I'm focus on quality more than quanlity. The fit is great, the structure is clean and in shape. I hand stitched the skirt's top stitchs. I was thinking about doing the top stitch like the denim but I think for a tailor skirt, hand make always look better so I tried to stitch by hand and I made the right decision.

3rd Thai's Influences Dress

So, this is my final Thai's influence dress, it took more time than I expected. But I'm happy with the outcome. Compare to the second one, this 3rd one is more fitted, I'm improved working with bias dress. It was struggled at first when i worked on my 1st bias dress but I got great advices from teachers and used experiences to worked on the second one. I think the most important thing when you're working with bias is you have to base everything to make sure the fabric stay in place before you sew. Now I know why bias dress is more expensive compare to straight grain dress; it's reasonable. It took more time and more fabric needed. Putting an invisible zipper on the bias dress is another pain. Just try to base everything and make sure your pattern is accurate, otherwise everything will be mess up and take lot of times.
